Building Your Mental Muscle — Monday Motivation

Happy Monday!

I’ve got a confession.

I’m not always happy and energetic. While it’s never my intention to come across as such, people often compliment me in assuming that’s how I am 24/7. I’m not. In fact, no one is. Not Tony Robbins and certainly not that person in your life who seems very Zen  &  “Life is so beautiful!” all the time.

And its okay, because we’re not designed to be perfect.

I’ve found you have to be right in the middle.

To take risks & chances but not to be careless.

You don’t know what you don’t know. Take advice/insight but realize they don’t know, either. No one has “The Answer.” The only way to find out is to do.

Let yourself have your down moments but deal with your emotions, acknowledge it’s okay to have them, let them go, and move forward fast.

Be self-aware of your environment and how you’re engaging your environment but not self-conscious of your actions.

Take action from your heart & gut; know that they won’t always be “right” but they will lead you to a righteous outcome if you’re open.

Perception is reality but reality isn’t going to be sunshine and rainbows. Reality has both good and bad, so set up your expectations accordingly.

Know it’s not going to be perfect, but expect to ALWAYS have a positive outcome. It’s important to define “positive outcome” because a positive outcome does not always mean getting exactly what we wanted. Most often our worst moments turn into our greatest lessons!

Sometimes you’ll lose and things won’t go your way but it’s better to always believe you’re going to win/succeed rather than not. Because the higher your aim, the greater your outcome–even if it’s not your ideal outcome.

How do You Stay in the Middle?

I don’t have that answer—and I don’t know that there IS an answer. It’s just lifeRather than try to find the ultimate solution, just seek the best outcome for right now.

What I do know is that the more you persevere and seek balance in your life, the stronger your mental muscle becomes. And just as in fitness, when you build mental muscle you are able to do more, feel and look better.

What do you think? I’d love to hear from you. Comment below on our blog or on social media; our world could use more Monday motivation and fewer cases of “The Mondays.”
