Happy Monday!

What if I told you there was something you could do that could instantly reduce your stress and anxiety as well as give you energy?

Would you be interested?

It’s not a magic pill. In fact it’s not magic at all. You’re doing it now but I’m referring to a more organized form; that is, meditation.

Meditation is nothing more than finding a quiet place, focusing on your breath, and doing your best to be present.

If a pill or magic word existed that instantaneously gave you stress & anxiety relief and energy, you know you’d be all over it, because it doesn’t require any work.

Meditation is a practice. It will not be easy, but I’m telling you it’s worth it. At first, you may think you’re bad at meditation and decide “Eh—it’s not for me.” Your mind will wander and you’ll be tempted to open your eyes or look at your phone. But it’s like success in anything else, if you can find that edge of discomfort and walk over it, you grow stronger and build momentum.

  1. Find a quiet place: If you’re at work, it could be your office, a stairwell, or your car.
  2. Start small: Find meditation music on YouTube and set an alarm for 2 minutes. More time is ideal, but honestly 2 minutes does do a lot and is a great place to start. Are you going to tell me you don’t have 2 minutes for your health? Really? Really??
  3. Just close your eyes and focus on breathing deeply. Do a 4 second inhale, 4 second hold, 4 second exhale – literally count in your head.
  4. When rogue thoughts come through your head, let them pass like a cloud in the sky.
  5. Make it routine: Please don’t be one of those people who, when they do something new, feel challenged and claim it doesn’t work. Because in those cases, it’s not the thing that doesn’t work, it’s YOU. And if you have that attitude, you’ll have a hard time getting anything meaningful to work.

I’m calling you out – are you up for a challenge you can do in minutes per day that will better your health? Or are you “too busy” to feel good? I’ve been guilty of being “too busy” for stuff like this. What’s amazing is that when you start to prioritize your health first, your life comes to you rather than you to it.
